Girls of Promise (The Women's Foundation of Arkansas)
The Girls of Promise program is designed to introduce 8th grade girls to career possibilities in the fields of math, science, engineer, and technology. By encouraging girls to aim high and pursue academic excellence, the program aims to assist them in preparing for their future.
Junior Achievement of Arkansas, Inc.
Junior Achievement programs prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and how to effectively manage it, how to create jobs in their community, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking in the workplace.
Cell Phone for Soldiers
Cell Phones for Soldiers turn old cell phones into minutes of prepaid calling cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas. Cell Phones for soliders expects to collect 50,000 cell phones each month through a network of more than 3,000 collections sites across the country. The phones are sent to ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for solidersfor each donated phone - enough to provide and hour of talk to soldiers aboard.
Arkansas Sheriff's Youth Ranch
The Ranch's program is centered on the belief that abused, neglected or abandoned children -- all children for that matter -- must establish a nurturing relationship with at least one caring adult to become a healty productive adult themselves. Sheriffs's Ranch Therapeutic Activites and Recreation is a wilderness-based theraperutic recreation program designed to help children and adults develop creative problem-solving skillls, which can be applied to a variety of settings. The program places participants in an enevironment they can't manipulate and provide a natural setting for learning basic life skills. Elemens of the program include self assessment, team bulidling, organizational skills, artful alignment of people and leadership skills.
The DC Assault Blue Basketball Team
The DC Assault is a select basketball program that plays in elite AAU tournaments across the United States. The organization is open to boys ages 10-17 who are in good academic standing.
Dirt Diamonds Softball Team
Dirt Diamonds is an 8 and under girls' softball team in Bryant, Arkansas. The Dirt Diamonfs Softball team is a league team of the Bryant Softball Association. This organization was establshed to promote youth competative softball, health and fitness to young girls.
Special Olympics Arkansas
Our mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletc competition in a variety of Olympic type sports for all children and adults with ittellectual disabilities giving them continuing opportunties to develop physical fitness, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, othet Special Olympics athletes and the community.
The Arc
The Arc Arkansas provides supports, housing, advocacy, education and leadership to people with disabilities and their families. The Arc assists and encourages individuals with disabilities in acquiring skills and supports, which allow them to make decisions regarding their own lives, helping them to achieve integration into the mainstream of community life. These personalized supports are outcome oriented, dependable, effective and flexible. Providing quality, affordable, accessible, integrated housing and support is a primary mission of The Arc Arkansas.
